Welcome to

Distress Embossing Glaze Swatches
I was a bit disappointed to find out that Ranger doesn’t have any round labels for the older Distress colors. So I made some.
Candy Cane Carton
The first time I used this Sizzix Seasonal House Gift Box Die Set, I didn’t use the included decorations at all. So I thought I’d do that in this week’s make.
Get Your Skates On
The skates are really easy to put together, with no fiddly bits. There’s a base layer, that shows up as the tongue of the boot and part of the heel. On top of that comes the pretty top layer, and the sole of the boot. The blade has tabs that you glue to the back of the base.
Paradise Birthday
I’m stamping a pattern on vellum with the hexagonal stamps in the set. Stamping with white pigment ink and heat embossing in white gives a wonderfully crisp and fresh result.
Fintastic Sharks
The shark and friends are from a Lawn Fawn Stamp and Die Set called Shark Duh-Nuh Flip Flop. I colored them with my Distress Watercolor Pencils.
Orchid Cupcakes
The starting point for today’s card was a fall-themed cupcake die set from Spellbinders. It was the Large Die of the Month for September last year. I didn’t get around to playing with it then, so it’s just the right thing for a new cardmaking hop that I’m participating in.
It’s called the Procraftinators Club and the idea is to help us finish cardmaking kits, monthly subscriptions and other unfinished projects. This cupcake die set is perfect for it!
Summer Lantern
I wanted to create a quick summer card with some of the supplies I got from Kat Scrappiness. The lantern shaker die is intended for Christmas cards. But with some ink blending I thought I could make it work for a summer night too.
Haul from Kat Scrappiness
Kat Scrappiness had a Memorial Day Sale and I stocked up on her own brand of shaker card dies and sentiments.
Tropical Birthday
‘Things With Wings’ is the theme for my June 2024 YouTube cardmaking video hop. For this hop, my starting point was the recent Spellbinders die set Tropical Friends. It creates a parrot and a toucan.
Jaycee’s Cards
I was going for a cyanotype effect and used Ranger Archival Ink in the color Cobalt. Archival ink on a firm linen ink pad is pretty easy to work with.
Have a Norse Yule
I stamped YULE and the Norse greeting with Versamark and used Lumberjack Plaid Embossing Powder to heat emboss them. Then I cut out the license plate with the die. I used a heat embossing pen around the edges of the license plate and heat embossed them with Ranger Verdigris Embossing Powder.
Extraordinary Embossing Folders
This blog post is based on the weeklong class called Extraordinary Embossing Folders at OnlineCardClasses.com.
Washi Flower Power
When you’re using washi, you need smooth white cardstock that’s big enough for one repeat of the pattern. Most of Pinkfresh’s washi tape patterns are about the size of a slimline card, so cutting a letter size piece of cardstock lengthwise works great.
Stitched Mother’s Day
For this card, I used the Spellbinders Stitching Die of the Month for April 2024. It’s called Stitched Wall Hanging and includes an oval embroidery hoop, as well as two stitched flowers and a stitched leaf.
Simple Mother’s Day Card
This Mother’s Day card is super simple yet impressive. It’s only using one die, Hero Arts Mother’s Day Window Die. A lot of the shine comes from the holographic background inside the shaker window.
Wise Vintage Owl
To highlight the vintage floral pattern, I used my Tim Holtz Medium Brayer to add some Lost Shadow Distress Oxide on the raised areas.

Shaped Shaker Card
Today’s card is a shaped shaker card, so I’m starting with the card base.
