Another First

I use Amazon affiliate links. That means that you support my business whenever you click on a link and buy something, at no additional cost to you.

I got my first Etsy review today. Yay! Best birthday present I could wish for! Reviews are super important for trustworthiness. I’m amazed at how quickly I went from an empty store to a store with products, sales and (so far only) one review. Here’s hoping for lots more growth for my little store over the coming year!

"1 shop review 5 stars. Beautifully executed card, with Moose applique against a charming country style background on sturdy card stock"

To that end I watched a video with Etsy’s head of SEO on YouTube. His name is Ratish Naroor and he talked about do’s and don’ts to ensure your Etsy store shows up in Google search results. I checked and Google has not indexed my store yet. But I refined my listing titles based on Ratish’s advice, so I’m ready for the Google bot. I also put product videos on my to do list.

On the business side of things I applied to become a Scrapbook.com affiliate. I buy most of my craft supplies there, so it makes sense for me to send them traffic. In fact Tim Holtz is coming out with a new ink color this weekend, so I’ll probably order it from Scrapbook.com once it’s in stock. Tim Holtz will present the new color in a YouTube Live on Saturday at 9 am Pacific. In addition to the color itself, he also demonstrates makes from his design team that use the new color. It’s worth tuning in for those, even if you don’t care about Tim’s color palette. The craft world is currently abuzz with speculation about what the new color might be.

As far as my own crafting goes, I spent some time working on my new equinox cards. I created sentiments and heat embossed a sun pattern in gold from Hero Arts onto purple ombre scrapbook paper. Photos tomorrow, when there’s light and I’m not pinned down by a cat.
