A change will do you good

Craft fair production

As we head into the holiday season, I need to ramp up my production of holiday cards and gifts. As discussed previously, I have three craft fairs booked.

  • Unique Boutique Craft Fair: November 3rd - 4th, Sunnyvale Senior Center

  • Fairwood Explorer Elementary School Craft Fair: November 18th in Sunnyvale

  • Fremont High School Craft Fair: December 2nd - 3rd, Fremont High School in Cupertino

Instagram hops

I’m down to just two seasonal hops. Here are the dates and themes.

Content creation

Separately, I want to move toward content creation and affiliate marketing. I’m still wrapping my head around what that means. Here’s what I know so far:

I need to prioritize creating content relevant to stamp companies I have a relationship with and products they’re currently selling. Until now I’ve chosen products based on what I felt like making. If I were able to write about it and link to the products, that was an afterthought. That needs to change.

It may sound harsh but I see it as an opportunity to get more deliberate about what I create.

Because I’m an Amazon affiliate, the number of products I can use is also much wider than it seems at first. E.g. you can often find Spellbinders dies on Amazon that they’re not selling on their own site any more. There are also many crafty companies that I don’t have a direct affiliate relationship with, but they sell through Amazon.

Still, I need to go through my stash and divide it into monetizable/non-monetizable. Right now my stamp and die sets are only sorted by theme, e.g. critters, seasons and florals. From the non-monetizable I’ll have to decide what to keep and what to destash. I see this as an opportunity to get more focused in my crafting.

Stay tuned to find out what I’m going to do with the destash items. It may involve a giveaway or two…
