The products I’m going to use today are the Spellbinders Stitching Die of the Month for December 2025, A Perfect Blend, with a sentiment from Spellbinders Festive Press. It was the BetterPress Kit for July. And I’ll emboss my background with Spellbinders Holiday Flurry.
Background
I’m starting with the background. Here I have a piece of Recollections 110 lbs White Dove and I’m giving it a spritz of water before I put it inside the embossing folder. I’m creating a 5 by 7 card today. It’s such a pretty folder!
I’m cutting down the embossed panel to 6 ½” by 4 ½” with my Tim Holtz trimmer. Then I glue a piece of Accent Opaque that’s a quarter inch less in both directions behind it. Next I glue some thin foam from the Dollar Store to the back of the panel.
Here I have a piece of Recollections Gold Foil Cardstock that’s 6 ¾ by 4 ⅝”. I left it a little longer than it needs to be, so I can cut off the extra after I’ve glued it behind the embossed panel. It will be 6 ⅝ by 4 ⅝” on the finished card.
Now I can glue my panel to the cardbase. It’s a readymade Ohuhu base that I’ve added a piece of White Dove to.
Die Cut Mugs
Here are my die cuts. I cut twelve mugs from Spellbinders Perfect Blend: six with the handle on the left and six with it on the right. Then I doubled them up. I also cut the half hearts in the die set from White Dove and Gold Foil cardstock. I’m not sure yet what I want to use. But I know that I want a grid of six mugs.
I’m adding tape to the backs of my mugs. I’ve laid out my mugs in a grid. I want the bottoms and corners within ¾” from the edge of the card. So I’m holding the card, as well as my T-ruler, in place with magnets.

First I’m gluing down the bottom left mug, then the bottom right one. Then I turn the card around and glue the top right and top left mug in place. Then I turn the card right side up again and place the two middle mugs.
Sentiment
For my sentiment I’m using Holiday Cheer from Spellbinders Festive Press BetterPress Kit. I have my White Dove cardstock ready with Matte Gold Foil and my Glimmer is warming up.
When the light turns green, I place the press plate on it and press the timer button. Then I run it through my Spellbinders Platinum 6 when it’s ready.
Here’s the result. I might want the negative instead, so I’m preparing for foiling that right away. Then I cut out both with the coordinating die.
Die Cut Hearts
I tried laying out my gold hearts but I felt that they took over. Instead I’m edging the White Dove hearts with embossing ink and heat embossing them with Ranger Super Fine Detail in Gold. Then I glue all the hearts to the mugs.
Finishing Up
I settled on the positive foiled sentiment with a slightly offset gold foil banner behind it. So I’m popping it up on foam tape on top of the bottom mugs. Then I added lots of Color Essential Gems in the color Spectrum AB. They’re very pretty with a gold toned iridescence.
