This charming BetterPress Kit is called Paws in the City and it’s the Spellbinders BetterPress Kit of the Month for November 2025. I pressed it with Archival Ink in the color Watering Can. If you can’t find that gray, Graphite or Hickory Smoke are the closest. It’s a fairly dark, neutral to cool gray.
As you can see, the doggy is its own plate. The kit comes with a registration film, so it was very easy to combine them. If you have dies or press plates with other people, you could add this little dog to them as well. E.g. the vampire from the Craftoween box.
The sentiments gave me a Breakfast at Tiffany’s vibe, so I watercolored the images in Tiffany Blue and brown. Then I fussycut our little scene and stabilized it with some Accent Opaque.
Background
For the background I used the March Embossing Folder of the Month, Mosaic Memories. I felt that it would go well with the retro dress. I monoprinted it a couple of time with Distress Oxide Lost Shadow. That gave me just enough contrast to be interesting without trying to steal the show.
I cut down the background to 4″ by 5 ¼” and layered a piece of Accent Opaque behind it. Then I matted it with a piece of turquoise cardstock cut to 4 ⅛” by 5 ⅜”, before I centered them both on my white card base.
Sentiments
The kit includes a whopping five sentiments. I used two of them. They’re also pressed with Watering Can Archival Ink.
I gave the subsentiment a haircut. Originally it started with “Fur real.” I love a good pun, but thought this card could do without it.

Assembly
I added foam tape to the back of the watercolored panel and adhered it on the left side of the card. I also popped up the main sentiment. Then I tucked the subsentiment in under it.
I finished up with some Color Essentials Gems Silver Mix around the sentiment.
