As an aside, I know this folder is called Leaf Pattern, but I’ve always used it for holiday makes. The pattern looks like evergreen branches to me.

I’m still trying to reclaim Halloween tropes from the overdone, traditionally-discordant colors. Halloween cards can be tasteful, really!

This is going to be a holiday make, so I’m using the tree and the wreath. I also want to use the cute shingles on the roof.

‘Things With Wings’ is the theme for my June 2024 YouTube cardmaking video hop. My starting point was the Spellbinders die set Tropical Friends.

This blog post is based on the weeklong class called Extraordinary Embossing Folders at OnlineCardClasses.com.

For the box, I’m using a Sizzix die set called Seasonal House Gift Box. It creates a super cute mini milk carton.

I want this card to be shabby chic, so I’m using a lot of gesso. Over-simplified, gesso is thick, matte white paint.

Today’s card is a shaped shaker card, so I’m starting with the card base.

I took advantage of the Sizzix Spring Sale. Here’s my haul.

The critters’ gaze directs the viewers’ gaze, so use it to your advantage.
