The snowdrop plate is part of the January Set of Spellbinders Florals Through the Year Collection. So I created a snow-themed shaker card with it. This was very easy, using the Spellbinders Arch Shaker Dome.

First I foiled the snowdrops and the January plate with silver foil, then I foiled the negative with a solid hot foil plate. I added some green ink blending on the leaves and the tips of the petals.

Shaker

I placed my shaker bits on top of the snow drops and glued down the dome on top. The dome means that there’s no foam tape for the shaker bits to get stuck on!

As for the shaker bits, the “snow” is chunky glitter from Michael’s. The snow flake clay embellishments are part of Trinity Stamps Rainbow Blizzard Mix. I picked out a few light pink, green and white flakes to match the ink blending on the snowdrops and my sentiment. I have a feeling that I’ll use the Rainbow Blizzard Mix a lot over the next two months.

I also added a couple of Kat Scrappiness Silver Bullet Shaker Dots to ensure that the shaker bits keep moving. The glitter wants to stick to the inside of the plastic. The silver pearls knock them off again.

Background

I first die cut the arch from a piece of Hammermill, then I embossed it with the Spellbinders Ski Lodge Embossing Folder. I tried several times to get it perfectly symmetric centered on the arch. When it didn’t work, I angled the cardstock in the embossing folder. Much less frustrating!

The pink glitter frame is also die cut with the Spellbinders Essential Arches Die Set. It contains a lot of dies!

Sentiments

The main sentiment is from a die set called Spellbinders Colorful Expressions Sentiments. It was the Small Die of the Month for August 2024. I die cut the shadow a couple of times and created a green gradient from the bottom with the same green ink as on the snowdrops. I also die cut the word a couple of times and stacked them with pink glitter paper on top.

The subsentiment is from Spellbinders All You Need Sentiments, which was the Glimmer Kit of the Month November ‘23. It’s only $10 right now.
