Mistletoe Card

I dry embossed the Leaf Pattern on some Hammermill cardstock and cut it down to 4” by 5 ¼”. As an aside, I know this folder is called Leaf Pattern, but I’ve always used it for holiday makes. The pattern looks like evergreen branches to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I matted the embossed panel with green pearlized cardstock before I adhered it all to my cardbase.

The three mistletoe branches I cut from green pearlized cardstock and vellum with a snowflake print. I edged the vellum with green alcohol markers, so it wouldn’t get lost against the white background. Then I glued it down at the top. I also glued down the green mistletoe branches at the top, but I added foam tape under the leaves. As you can see, these die cuts are quite substantial, so there’s lots of room for foam tape.

I cut the berries from gold foil cardstock and the bow parts from pink pearlized cardstock. Mistletoe typically have two berries where the leaves fork. I placed one larger berry directly on the leaf and popped up a smaller berry on foam tape.

The bow is very easy to put together. First I glued together the two loops. While that dried, I glued the two ends to the top of the branches. Next I added the vertical knot to the loops. Then I adhered the loops on top of the ends with a foam square.

Finally I added some gold flat back pearls.

Merry & Bright Card

I dry embossed the Leaf Pattern on some Hammermill cardstock and cut it down to 4” by 5 ¼”. Then I matted it with green cardstock before I adhered it all to my cardbase.

The words Merry and Bright I cut from pink pearlized cardstock. Except for the star, I cut the rest of the dies from green pearlized cardstock. The star I cut from gold foil cardstock. Except for the star I added two layers of Accent Opaque behind the die cuts.

I got fancy with Merry and Bright and used a Ranger Embossing Pen to create a fake shadow. I heat embossed it with Distress Embossing Glaze in Lumberjack Plaid. It looks cool but was way too time consuming.

Finally I glued down all die cuts and scattered some gold flat back pearls across the finished card.

Diecember 2021 Card

I started with a dark blue card front that I cut down to 4 by 5 ¼”. On this I die cut the crescent moon and the Milky Way so they bleed out on the left and top. Next I ink blended with Distress Oxide Black Soot from the bottom. I added a layer of Accent Opaque and thin foam to the back, before I matted the blue card front on gold foil cardstock cut to 4 ⅛ by 5 ⅜”. Then I added the card front to my cardbase.

The sleigh I die cut once from pink pearlized cardstock and twice from Accent Opaque. I stacked them, before I painstakingly placed tiny snippets of foam tape behind the sleigh and reindeer. Finally I adhered the equipage to my card.
