November Pinkfresh Challenge: Floral Bauble

This is one of three cards I’m entering in the November 2024 Pinkfresh Challenge. I chose to use the challenge palette. It is Pinkfresh Waterfall, Begonia, Mimosa, Citron & Storm. These are not exactly traditional holiday colors. To make it a little more holiday-ish, I used Gold embossing powder for Citron.

On the other hand, the products I’m using are very holiday-themed. That’s because I created these cards for a holiday-themed giveaway. It was interesting to try and create something that says “holiday” with this palette. At least the sentiments are appropriate for the season. 😂

Floral Bauble Card

I used the coordinating die to cut out the shapes first and then stamped on them. This may seem a bit backwards, but the ribbon that sticks out from the stamp can easily get out of alignment otherwise.

I heat embossed the images and sentiment in Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder. Then I used the layering stencils with the challenge colors. I cut out the images and sentiment with the coordinating die. Next I stacked Accent Opaque behind the die cuts.

Background

My background is stamped with pigment ink in white, and heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder in White. Then I ink blended over it, concentrating on the edges, with Waterfall. When the ink was dry, I cut down the background to 3 ¾” by 5” and glued it to a white card base.

Assembly

I placed the bauble in the center on a layer of foam tape. The ribbon went on top on two layers of foam tape. Then I nestled the two greenery pieces under the bow. Finally I glued the Noel sentiment in the top right corner.

To finish up the card, I added Glossy Accents to the berries. Once that was dry, I scattered some Pinkfresh Pearls in Gold across the card to draw the eye to the sentiment.
