Kat Scrappiness Influencer Team

About a month ago I applied to join the Kat Scrappiness Influencer Team. I’m super happy to report that I was accepted! I’ve even submitted my first order with my influencer discount. I’m looking forward to receiving it and getting stuck in!

As an influencer I’m on the hook for 2 projects per month. Kathleen, the Kat in Kat Scrappiness, often picks people from the influencers when spots open up in her Design Team. That’s my next goal. Hopefully next year! In the meantime I’m enjoying chatting with my fellow cardmakers.

Blog posts for Influencer Team projects will be clearly labeled as such. In those, only Kat Scrappiness products will be named and linked. Normally I link all products, including those that I don’t have affiliate links for.

Goals

I reached my goal of 500 Instagram followers before the deadline I’d set myself. In fact, I hit 600 just yesterday. The trend for Instagram looks very promising. I’d be surprised if I don’t reach 1,000 followers during 2024. That makes me very happy!

On the other hand I probably won’t reach my goal of reaching 1000 watch hours on YouTube before the end of the year. Hopefully the Kat Scrappiness gig will give me a push in the right direction on that platform. At least producing videos is getting easier.

There was a time on Instagram when my follower count seemed to move at a snail’s pace no matter what I did. It was a slog, but I got through it. Hopefully slow and steady work will pay off on YT too. 🤞🏻

Affiliates

When I hit 500 followers on Insta, I reached out to Scrapbook.com again through ShareASale. When I didn’t get a response there, I contacted their affiliate team through their web site, but didn’t hear back on that channel either. That was disappointing.

My earning potential would really increase if I were an affiliate for a major multi-brand retailer. It could be either Scrapbook.com or Simon Says Stamp. The reason I haven’t reached out to Simon is that their program is by invitation only. Their own-brand products are fantastic, particularly Kristina Werner’s and Cathy Zielske’s designs. They’ve recently started producing dies for Tim Holtz’ stamps too, making them even more attractive as an affiliate partner. I may put some feelers out to them once I reach 1,000 followers on Insta.

On the other hand, I’m now an Etsy affiliate. I have plans for developing that potential revenue stream, but they’re in their infancy still.

Selling Cards

I’ve reopened my shop here on SquareSpace. Check it out if you’re looking for handmade cards!
