Fabulous Boots
I love the shape of the witch boots in the Kat Scrappiness Witches Brew Die Set, so I created a pattern from them.
To do this, I die cut the pair of boots seven times out of a purple pattern paper from my stash and seven times from heavyweight white cardstock. Then I stacked them for dimension.
My background is a pale lavender cardstock panel that’s 4 ¼ by 5 ½”. On this I drew pencil lines at ¾”, 2 ⅛” and 3 ½”. See illustration.
Then I laid out my boots, starting with the boot at the bottom center and moving up along the center line, while alternating left and right shoes. On the left line, I placed the first shoe staggered compared to the center shoes and pointing to the left. Then I placed the first boot on the right line at the same height and pointing to the right. I continued building the pattern upwards while alternating shoe directions. See pattern illustration.
When the glue had dried, I cut down the panel to 4 by 5 ¼” and added a smaller piece of heavy white cardstock behind it for stability and dimension. I matted the panel onto a purple foil cardstock that was 4 ⅛” by 5 ⅜”. Finally I added it to my white card base.
Sentiment
My sentiment is Kat Scrappiness Spooky Happy Halloween Die Set. I cut the word from the same dark purple paper as the boots and from heavy white cardstock. The shadow I cut from purple foil cardstock and heavy white cardstock.
After stacking and gluing everything together, I put foam tape behind the sentiment and placed it in the upper third of the card panel.
Embellishments
There are several different stocking patterns included in the Witches Brew Die Set. I used the dotty ones and cut them repeatedly until I felt I had enough circles. Then I scattered my purple foil circles around the card, taking care to place the larger dots closer to the sentiment.
