Chrysanthemum Thanks & Smile

Paid Promotion for Spellbinders Paper Arts

These cards are pretty similar to the sympathy cards I created previously.

Flower

For these two cards, I foiled the flower in peach and purple. Then I added some ink blending with a pale blue dye ink centered on the flower. I die cut the flower with the middle die from the Essential Ovals from the Essential Shapes Die & Hot Foil Bundle. The current price is $150, so it’s a bit of an investment. But it’s a staple in my craft room. It includes squares, rectangles, circles and ovals, with matching dotted Glimmer plates.

Background

Next I cut the largest oval with the eyelet inset.

Then I switched to the rectangles from the Essential Shapes Bundle. I foiled the largest rectangle in peach and purple and cut it out with the coordinating die.

Sentiment

The sentiments are from the You Are Everything Sentiments BetterPress Plate. It’s one big plate and one big die that cuts out all 12 sentiments at once. I foiled them with peach and purple to match the flowers. I chose sentiments, so I can use these cards when I send off giveaway prizes. Having received giveaway prizes that didn’t even come with a post-it, I’m even more determined to always include a handmade card!

Assembly

I adhered the foiled background directly to the card base. Then I glued the larger oval to the embossed background. I mounted the flower oval on the larger oval with foam tape. Finally I added the sentiment with more foam tape and added some clear drops to draw the eye to it.
