Cowboy Quokkas
Using ephemera for cards is quick and easy! I started by tracing around my two quokkas and cutting out some heavy, white cardstock.
-
Faceted Petals
This card builds on a previous thank-you card. This one adds more layers, texture and colors.
-
Minimalist Sympathy Card
The theme of the January 2025 video hop is Minimalism and I’ve chosen to use the Spellbinders BetterPress of the Month for January for my card.
-
Vivid Blooms
I started out by studying the arrangement on the packaging. It uses one of each of the flowers and a couple of the smaller leaves. So that’s what I die cut from Hammermill cardstock.
-
Winnie the Pooh
I love Winnie the Pooh and the original illustrations! So I jumped at the chance of creating cards with the Classic Pooh Simple Stories and Spellbinders collab.
-
Moody Thanks
This is a pretty simple card, consisting only of two dark purple pieces of cardstock plus the sentiment and some sequins.
-
Jaycee’s Hearts
As soon as I saw Jaycee’s playing deck-themed release with Spellbinders, I knew what I wanted to create with it. With Valentine’s Day on my mind, I chose the heart dies for my first card.
-
Birthday UFO
Simon Hurley’s Space Adventure release with Spellbinders is so much fun! I created a birthday card with a UFO, two aliens and a matching sentiment.
-
Amanda’s Bunnies
First I stamped all four bunnies from Trinity Stamps Baby Bunny Stamp Set a couple of times on Hammermill cardstock with Memento Dye Ink in Rich Cocoa. This is an alcohol marker friendly ink.
-
Pinkfresh Poinsettia
I started by stamping and heat embossing the big Poinsettia stamp set twice: once with gold embossing powder on Hammermill and once with Distress Embossing Glaze in Speckled Egg on vellum.
-
Folk Snowflake
The December 2024 Pinkfresh Challenge Theme is Magical Holiday and the color palette is Mermaid Cove, Cherry Blossom, Berrylicious, Sunkissed, and Spruce Tips.
-
Kat Scrappiness Christmas Lantern
One thing I love about Kat Scrappiness is that she has lots of shaker dies! This older Christmas Lantern is one of them.
-
Merry Giveaway Cards
I cut out the A2 Cover Die from an old background. The background was stamped with a Taylored Expressions background stamp and heat embossed in light blue.
-
California Santa
I want my Santa to sit at the bottom of an A2 card with the sentiment above him. It’s a pretty big sentiment, so it’s important to plan out my card.
-
Oval Holiday Shaker
I cut the oval base layer three times from red foil cardstock and once from clear acetate. Next I cut the oval frame three times from red glitter foam.
-
BetterPress First Impressions
But this blog post is mostly about taking the BetterPress for a spin. I own a number of plates already, because they foil fantastically well.
-
Spellbinders Love on the Rocks
Today I’m participating in Spellbinders launch of the Love on the Rocks Collection. For this card I used the die set called Love on the Rocks and the press plate sentiments.
-
A Slimline Christmas
I had a dual purpose for these cards. I needed to create a card with an old kit or subscription for an Instagram hop and I needed sample cards for my next giveaway.
-
November Pinkfresh Challenge: Floral Bauble
I heat embossed the images and sentiment in Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder. Then I used the layering stencils with the challenge colors.
-
November Pinkfresh Challenge: Holiday Gifts
I die cut and stenciled the faux envelope in Begonia. I arranged the presents and greenery coming out of the envelope more or less following the image on the packaging.
-
November Pinkfresh Challenge: Holiday Spirit
For my background I stenciled Holiday Foliage with Warm Buff, Doe and Lunar Paste in Cookie Dough.
-
Kat Scrappiness Vellum Snowflake Frame
I started out by stamping and heat embossing the foliage arrangement from the Christmas Add-On Stamp for the Holiday Lantern.
-
Sizzix Holiday Giveaway
As an aside, I know this folder is called Leaf Pattern, but I’ve always used it for holiday makes. The pattern looks like evergreen branches to me.
-
Reindeer Shaker Card
I’m still charmed by Simon Hurley’s Woodland Wildlife Stamp and Die Set. So for an Instagram challenge with a snow globe theme, I watercolored the reindeer from it.
