What’s Up, Gnomie?

Gnomes

I started by stamping the male gnome from the Kat Scrappiness Summer Gnomes Stamp Set twice on watercolor paper. Then I watercolored it with my artist grade watercolors. When I was done, I cut them out with the coordinating die set. I also cut two more gnomes out of Accent Opaque 100 lbs and stacked them.

Background

I created a nice, chunky frame with the Kat Scrappiness Foliage Frame Die. First I cut it from a light blue paper with a bubble pattern from the Kat Scrappiness Friends Under the Sea 6 by 6 Paper Pad. Then I cut two more frames from Accent Opaque 100 lbs. I added glue to the main parts of the frames, so that I could choose to fluff some of the leaves.

For the background behind the frame, I selected a piece of paper with a wave pattern and turned it sideways. I determined that I wanted the lightest color wave in the center. So I took care to keep that there as I cut it down to 4″ by 5 ¼”. Then I glued it to the back of the frame.

Sentiment

For my sentiment, I selected “What’s Up Gnomie?” from the Summer Gnomes Stamp Set. I heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in Silver on watercolor paper. Then I cut it out with a sentiment strip die.

Assembly

The Foliage Frame is exactly A2 size, so it was very easy to glue it to the front of my card base. Next I nestled my sentiment into the foliage at the bottom of the frame. Then I placed the two gnomes, holding hands so they’re standing on the sentiment. I finished up by adding lots of pearls in between the leaves for a nice, full look.

I’m super happy with how this turned out. The gnomes are just so cute!
