Background
I started by watercoloring the sky. For this I used my artist grade watercolors and Kat Scrappiness Dark Blue Pearl Powder. I laid down a couple of transparent washes and dried the watercolor paper in between. Then I splattered it with dark blue and white acrylic paint.
Die Cutting
Next I die cut the two hills and the stand of conifers from Kat Scrappiness Crafters Essentials Winter Edition from watercolor paper. I also cut the large deer from the Kat Scrappiness Reindeer Duo Die Set from watercolor paper.
Watercoloring the Die Cuts
I figured out how I wanted to place the hills and added some grey washes of watercolor to help separate them. The conifers I watercolored with more Kat Scrappiness Dark Blue Pearl Powder and grey watercolor paints.
The reindeer is the star of the card, so I colored it with Kat Scrappiness Gold Pearl Powder emphasizing the antlers and top of the animal. I also added a little bit of grey to the legs and hooves.

More Die Cutting
Once all the parts were watercolored, I used some washi tape to hold the sky and hills together. Then I die cut them with Kat Scrappiness Cross Stitched Rectangle Die Set.
Next I die cut more of all parts of the card for stacking.
Sentiment
The sentiment is from the Kat Scrappiness Christmas Add-On for the Holiday Lantern Stamp Set. I stamped it in Versamark embossing ink on watercolor paper and heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder in Gold. Then I cut it out with the coordinating die. I love a stamp set that comes with sentiments and coordinating dies for them!
Assembly
I started by doubling up the background and the two hills. Then I glued them all together and adhered the panel to my card base.
Next I doubled up the trees. I had to add some more die cuts behind the tops of the trees so they’d be level on the card. Then I was able to glue the trees to the card front.
I started out by tripled the reindeer. Doing that allowed the rear legs to stick out from the trees without bending. I had to add some more die cuts to the front though. For the head and antlers I used foam tape.
Finally I tripled the sentiment and popped it up on some foam tape. That was necessary to bring it to the same level as the deer.
I finished up with some Kat Scrappiness gold rhinestones and blue sequins.
