Pinkfresh Chrysanthemum

↓ Visual product list

This is the third and final card I created for the February Pinkfresh Challenge and my 1,000 Followers Giveaway. The challenge theme was Transparent Treasures, so I created a shaker element. The Pinkfresh ink colors for the challenge are Sweet Mustard, Peach Fuzz, Cherry Blossom, Waterfall, and Hydrangea. I used gold instead of Sweet Mustard and I didn’t end up using Hydrangea. Just like the Sweet Hummingbird card, I added two greens, Sage and Eucalyptus. For the blue flowers I also added a slightly darker blue, Summer Shower.

All products are by Pinkfresh, unless otherwise noted.

Chrysanthemum

I started by stamping and heat embossing the flowers and sentiment twice with Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in Gold. Then I stenciled the flowers with Peach Fuzz, Cherry Blossom, Waterfall, Summer Shower, Sage and Eucalyptus Inks. When I was done with the stenciling, I cut out the stamped images with the coordinating die.

Shaker Element

For this shaker element, I was going for a window in a house look, so I used an unreleased Pinkfresh die set called Foldable Pocket. It was meant to be used for scrapbooking. Either as a standalone mini album, or as a way of tucking away journaling or smaller photos. It was part of a Pinkfresh Scrapbooking Event I attended. The die set includes a number of smaller dies that can be used to mat photos or to create windows in the shaker. The four windows in my tag were created by a single die.

I ink blended the back of the shaker window with a gradient in Cherry Blossom for added depth. Unfortunately I used foam tape that wasn’t thick enough, so the shaker doesn’t work very well. All my shaker bits are bunching up around the edges. 😭 The blue sequins were another freebie from the much-missed Studio Katia. I chose them because they go well with the Waterfall Ink.

Background

The background was created by embossing with a cover die called Modern Mosaic. There’s a stencil set too in that product suite, but I didn’t use it today.

Assembly

I glued the embossed panel to an A2 notecard. Then I started decorating it with my chrysanthemum flowers. I placed the shaker element in the bottom right corner and decorated it with more flowers. The sentiment ended up in the bottom right corner of the shaker element.

Finally I scattered some gold pearls and blue sequins around the card.
