Kristina’s Wreath Stamping

This card is based on Kristina Werner‘s lesson on day 2 of Online Card Classes So Very Merry 2025.

Kristina created an A2-sized card, using a stamp set she designed herself. By this time I had run out of A2-sized card bases, so I created a 5-by-7 card instead.

I shopped my stash and used Kat Scrappiness Holiday Lantern Christmas Add-On Stamp Set. It’s funny because I don’t have the Kat Scrappiness Holiday Lantern Stamp Set, but this add-on stamp set may be one of my most-used purchases from Kat. It’s fantastic when you want some holiday florals.

Batch Stamping

The idea behind these cards is batch stamping. With a stamp positioner like the Misti, batch stamping is great for churning out lots of cards in a short timespan. The trick is to keep the stamps confined to one quarter of the card front. That way you can stamp once in e.g. the lower left corner. Then you turn your card upside down and stamp in the upper right corner. Obviously this only works with stamps that don’t have a specific direction. Florals are great for this. Sentiments or candles, not so much.

I started by stamping the L-shaped arrangement in the bottom right corner and the poinsettia above it with white pigment ink. Then I heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in white. I turned my cardstock around and repeated the process in the top right corner.

I did all this stamping on red, pink, turquoise and navy cardstock.

Next I put one of my card fronts back in my Misti and moved the L-shaped floral to the bottom right corner. I stamped and heat embossed it in crisp white in the bottom right and top left corners on all my card fronts.

When all my wreaths were complete, I placed a card front in my Misti and arranged the sentiment and the large poinsettia stamps in the center of the card. Then I stamped and heat embossed them in white on all four card fronts.

Finishing Up the Cards

To step up the cards, I ink blended around the edges with darker dye inks for a vignette effect. When I was done with my ink blending, I wiped off the dye ink that was sitting on top of the embossing with a microfiber cloth.

Then all that remained was to glue my card fronts directly to the card bases.
