For this quick and easy card I used the Spellbinders BetterPress Kit for June 2025. It’s called Harbor Weave. I love the round shapes!
Background
For my background I used turquoise cardstock from Recollections. I inked up the main plate in the kit with Distress Oxide in Salvaged Patina. Then I ran it through my BetterPress.
I cut it down to 4″ by 5 ¼” and backed it with some 100 lbs Accent Opaque. I also added foam tape to the back.
Sentiment
The kit includes two sentiments:
- Sending a Net Full of Thanks
- Casting a Warm Hello Your Way
I better pressed them twice with Versamark and heat embossed them once with Ranger Fine Detail Embossing Powder in White and once in Distress Embossing Glaze in Prize Ribbon. Then I cut them out with the coordinating die, which is also part of the kit.

After trying both, I felt that the white heat embossing was fresher than the blue. I touched up the embossing in a couple of spots with Dr Ph Martin’s Bleed Proof White, to make sure it was legible. When it had dried, I glued a strip of Accent Opaque to the back for stability.
Assembly
I adhered the background to my card base with foam tape. Next I found some macramé cord that matches this cardstock in my stash and cut off two pieces. I glued them across the bottom of the card. On top of the macramé cord, I glued the sentiment. Finally I added some Opal Color Essentials Gems around the sentiment.
