Following up on my previous giveaway post, here’s the summary for the entire year of 2024. My giveaway posts netted me 103 followers. I’m almost at 1,000 followers, so that’s 10%. That’s significant.
However, these numbers are only follows from the giveaway post. There were follows from other sources as well. For example, hands down my best day of the year was December 9. That also happens to be the day I posted a giveaway for a Spellbinders Slimline Holiday Borders Die Set. Looking at just the new-follower count for that giveaway, it didn’t do well at all. It gave me 2 new followers.
But I actually gained 17 new followers on that day. It’s hard to tell how many of those had to do with the giveaway. But by the number of comments, that giveaway was 6th and by likes it was 5th best. So it’s important to not just look at one number. A little more context is usually a good thing.

Overall my account doubled in size in 2024. I’m very happy with that!
I had three giveaways that didn’t get any follows during the year. I’ve already talked about the Christmas in July Giveaway, but two are new, Brutus Monroe Pumpkin Stamps and Die Sets and Fun Stampers Journey Nested Die Sets.
The FSJ Nesting Die Sets broke my rule about showing cards, rather than the product themselves. That might work with Pinkfresh or Altenew but with a defunct, no-name brand it was a non-starter.
I’m less sure about why the BM Pumpkin products did so poorly. It was the week before the Thanksgiving week, so that shouldn’t have detracted. I like the card I created for the giveaway and the text is easy to read. I also created a reel for it, as I usually do. OTOH it was a reel of me watercoloring the pumpkin. Maybe that wasn’t attractive? Maybe it was because it was mostly stamps, and they’re neither floral nor critters. Critters are hugely popular.
